Golf is an fulfilling and absorbing sport but, even so, there is a risk that you may become stale or bored if you do not change the place where you play. This makes golf different from other games, but the reason for this is the very nature of golf. To become a really good golf player, one needs to play according to the unique nature of every course, which in turn means that more than one course is ideal for the maximum development of your game.

Therefore, changing courses requires more than one golf course. While you are still a beginner, or are short of money, your choices are usually limited to golf courses near the place you live, work, or study. Usually there is more than one course there and most likely they are not too expensive.

However, once you have mastered these courses, you’ll probably be looking for more.

The most logical place to look into, while searching for a new course, is the PGA Tour stops. The disadvantage of PGA Tour stops is that usually they are not cheap, getting inside is difficult and often they are members-only country clubs. So, before heading to a PGA Tour stop, it is wise to check its rules and make reservations a couple of months in advance.

If changing the golf course is not the sole purpose of your journey, consider one of the several travel destinations, which are suitable for the whole family. In the daytime you will play golf, while your family members are having fun, and you will spend the evening together.

One of the best locations for golf and family vacations all in one is Hawaii. There are many famous golf courses in the Hawaii Islands. Depending on which island you’re staying on, there are several different golf courses for you to visit.

If your destination is Oahu (if you are staying in Honolulu, it is on this island), consider the Waikele Golf Club or the Coral Creek Golf Course. They will help you to improve your golf skills, because both courses are designed in a way which includes parts of the terrain.

If you are on the Hawaii Island, why not visit Sandalwood on the Maui Island? This is a relatively new and at the same time well-known golf course. Or why not try the Kona Country Club or the Mauna Key golf course on the Big Island?

Another popular golf destination is Japan. In Japan, there are literally thousands of different golf courses to improve your skills. But it is very, very important that you book your trip in advance, or you might miss the tee time on a Japanese golf club.

However, no matter where you end up going to golf, you’ll always be improving your game by exposing yourself to new hazards and obstacles. Just make sure that you plan ahead completely if you’re going to be golfing at courses while on vacation - you don’t want to get there and be unable to golf because you forgot to make the right reservations!

The best golf exercises are not complicated; you donÂ’t need to be a member of a gym; and you donÂ’t need thousands of dollars in equipment. YesÂ…there are new golf fitness machines coming out in the market that look respectable, but they want an arm and a leg for them.

When you think of the best golf exercises, youÂ’ve got to think like an athlete for a minute. Golf is an athletic sport, and thanks to guys like Tiger Woods, golfers are realizing they need to train like an athlete to see improvement.

Most athletes donÂ’t ever use machines. Machines guide you through certain ranges of motion that donÂ’t benefit the golf swing. The golf swing is a very dynamic movement, that is not like other movements.

The baseball swing is very similar from a mechanical standpoint…but two distinct differences. In baseball you ‘react’ to a moving object (in golf the ball is not moving); and in baseball the ball is approximately waist high and in golf it’s on the ground.

So in order to incorporate the best golf exercises, youÂ’ve got to take a look at your body position and the muscles involved to maintain that position.

What is it?

We know at address you have a tilt in your spine, a bend at the hips and knees. And even a little ankle flex. ThatÂ’s a somewhat athletic position, similar to a squat, but not quite.

NowÂ…not only are you in the position, but now you have to swing a long lever (club) at over 80 plus mph and stay in this position (posture).

Impossible if you have weak and stiff golf specific muscles!

HereÂ’s is a quick test. When you are in your golf posture, just start touching the muscles in your body that are flexed. It will be the quads, hamstrings, glutes, calves and even the lower back muscles.

So we know that the best golf exercises will hit those muscle groups (and preferably in a standing position).

Now add the very powerful rotation of your upper body (backswing) and youÂ’ve got the core involved. So youÂ’ll need to do some golf exercises that incorporate core rotation and flexibility.

As you can see, the best golf exercises are NOT on machines and do not need to be done in a gym.

All you need is a pair of dumbbells, some inexpensive exercise tubing and maybe a weighted medicine ball and you can dramatically improve your golf swing right in your home in less than 30 minutes a day!

Hopefully you are motivated to take this approach to your golf improvement and you have a better understanding of what the best golf exercises are.

Improve your golf game right now you say? I say, absolutely! DonÂ’t waste another dime on new golf equipment: taking one more lesson; or hitting one more ball at the range, until you finish reading this article.

You seeÂ…itÂ’s not what you think thatÂ’s not allowing you to improve your golf game.

ItÂ’s something very simple and easy to remedy. ItÂ’s YOU! How your body moves throughout your golf swing.

Let me ask youÂ…do you feel nice and loose, relaxed and fluid when you swing a club on the golf course? Do you feel like your backswing is what it should be? How about your distance off the tee? Are you happy with it?

Now let me ask. What have you done to improve the above situation? And has it worked up to now? If it hasÂ…congratulations! I am very happy to hear that another golfer is improving.

If it isnÂ’t workingÂ…donÂ’t you think you should try a different approach? One that makes total sense from a mechanical (technique) standpoint.

If youÂ’ve tried all the aboveÂ…thereÂ’s only one thing left. As I said aboveÂ…YOU!

Your body is what swings the club and produces the end-result. Not the equipment, balls or all the lessons you take.

YouÂ’ve got to start with the engine (your body) first, to be able to make a mechanically sound and repeatable swing for 18 holes of golf.

Your body has physical limitations. All of ours does. Each person is unique, and has a different set of physical issues that need to be addressed. But when they areÂ…look out! The game gets much easier and a whole lot funner.

With our country getter bigger (heavier) by the dayÂ…this is a great reason to embark on a golf training program that will not only improve your golf game, but help you achieve your health goals also. Now isnÂ’t that reason enough to get started right away?

You will be amazed at your fast rate of golf improvement once you take this approach. You will be making swings and producing power youÂ’ve never seen before. Why? Because you are eliminating your physical limitations that have kept you from achieving the golf swing you know you are capable of.

The jury is out! All the pros are doing it. YouÂ’ve got to be next!

ItÂ’s time to improve your golf game once and for all!

Core flexibility training is critical if you want to improve your golf swing power and driving distance. Your core is the engine to your swing. If your core is inflexible you will not be able to make a full backswing with minimal tension.

Picture your core being the middle of your body. ThatÂ’s as simple as you can get it. It is mainly your abdominals, but can also include glutes and lower back. This area of your body is the most susceptible to injury.

ThatÂ’s why the majority of amateur golfers have a low back injury at some point in their golfing career. They have never focused on core flexibility training, as well as core strength training for more power.

To produce more power and distance in your swing does not mean swinging harder with your arms. HavenÂ’t you tried that before? If so, did you hit it farther? IÂ’ll bet not.

Just like hitting a baseball, tennis ball are even throwing the discus in track and field, you use your core for most of your power. You rotate with your core to create torque, then you unleash that stored up energy into the hit, whether it be a baseball, tennis ball or golf ball.

The more efficient you become with using your core, arms, shoulders and hands in a sequenced motion, the added distance will come quite easy. YouÂ’ll be shocked at how quickly your driving distance goes up.

Core flexibility training incorporates “rotation”. Golf stretching in this manner warrants the best results in the shortest amount of time!

Every core flexibility stretch you do should involve some form of rotating. This is very important since the golf swing is a rotate (turn) back and a rotate (turn) forward. The more range of motion you can achieve in your core area the more power you will produce.

HereÂ’s a little test you can do while your sitting there reading this article!

Put your arms across your chest, keep your eyes focused straight ahead. Now rotate as far as you can to the right and make a not of how far it is. Did you get to a 90 degree shoulder turn (thatÂ’s where you need to be). Then rotate as far as you can to the left. How far did you get.

This will be a “wake-up” call for many of you. If you find you can’t rotate at least 70 degrees of center, you’ll have no chance at maximizing your power and driving distance.

We do this simple core flexibility test seated to remove cheating of the lower body. If you were standing, it would be very easy to rotate your hips and get a bigger shoulder rotation.

Being seated removes this compensation!

A seated rotation is “true” core flexibility and range of motion.

I hope IÂ’ve educated you on the importance of core flexibility training to improve golf swing power and distance.

Improve golf swing seems like a thought that is on our minds as golfers dozens of times per day. Do you agree? But what are you currently doing to improve your golf swing?

Let me take a guess. Spending money on lessons, that may-or-may-not be working? How about the latest-greatest driver? Did it lower your score? Golf balls? They say the Titleist ProV1 makes a ton of difference. Has it for you?

I could go on-and-on but I wonÂ’t. I think you get the idea.

So I’ve mentioned some very common, ‘traditional ways’ to try to improve your golf swing. But I haven’t mentioned the MOST important one.

Do you want to take a guess?

Have you read any of my other 200 hundred or so articles floating around the web and in newspapers? If you havenÂ’t then you may not know what IÂ’m going to say.

But if you haveÂ…you know exactly what IÂ’m going to say!

Look in the mirrorÂ…thatÂ’s your answer!

No this isnÂ’t a joke. No IÂ’m not trying to yank your chain. IÂ’m trying to get you to realize what is holding you back. ItÂ’s not taking lessons. ItÂ’s not buying more equipment or $40 golf balls.

It’s getting right at the heart of the matter! Your ‘physical limitations’ are keeping you from making a mechanically sound and repeatable golf swing.

Think just for a minute!

If your body canÂ’t make a 90 degree shoulder turnÂ…itÂ’s a fact you will lose a TON of yardage off the tee and with your irons.

If you canÂ’t maintain your golf posture throughout your entire golf swingÂ…you have no chance to swing consistently for 18 holes.

If your core is weak…you will not be able to generate any power going into impact, therefore you will see a weak shot that most likely goes ‘offline’ quickly.

Can you see the picture more clearly now?

So what do you do?

You go see a local golf fitness professional who will take you through a golf fitness evaluation to determine your weaknesses and limitations and draw up a plan to improve them.

If you donÂ’t have someone in your areaÂ…or the cost is a bit too steep; do a search online for golf fitness, golf training or even golf exercises and see what you come up with.

FYI – make sure to pick the first few ‘non-colored’ results on the search pages. These are the ‘real’ results…not paid advertisements. You want to find a product or program that covers every facet of golf improvement…that you can afford.

This is the next best thing to having your own golf fitness trainer.
